Jim Branscum grew up in a large family of 8 in southern Oklahoma. He is the youngest of six boys and grew up on a small farm in southern Oklahoma. His parents raised him and his siblings to be respectful, courteous and to put others needs before their own. He began working at a young age mowing lawns, and his first real job was building Trusses. In high school, he learned to be a bricklayer. From 1985-1997 Jim was the Superintendent of Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, OK.

From 1990-2006 Jim and his wife were owners of Perry Monument Co. located in Perry, OK. He is a Christian minister, pastoring churches in both Oklahoma and Texas.  As a bi-vocational minister he has done brick work; drove a school bus and came back to monument sales in 2011 as he has found a wonderful place to work and minister with Colonial Monument Co. The Riley Gardner family are a blessing and inspiration to Jim and his family as they have a kindred spirit with the importance of family and taking care of others.
